Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Languido iPhone application and its supporting cloud services (together, the "Service"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What Languido is (and isn't)

Languido provides automated, machine-generated interpretation, transcription, and translation. It is a comprehension aid, not a certified interpreter.

Do not rely on Languido where a mistranslation could cause harm — including medical, legal, financial, immigration, or emergency situations. Machine translation can be wrong, and translations of names, numbers, dosages, and legal terms should always be independently verified.

3. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and Apple's App Store terms. You may not reverse-engineer, resell, or use the Service to build a competing product, and you may not attempt to circumvent usage limits, credit metering, or authentication.

4. Accounts

Core features work without an account. Creating an account (email plus password with email verification) unlocks premium AI models, purchased credits, and cross-device sync. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to create an account.

5. Credits and subscriptions

Credits are the unit for metered premium usage (premium AI models, cloud speech recognition, premium voices, cloud translation). Usage is billed against your balance per request, based on the underlying provider cost plus our margin. Approximate rates are shown in the app before you use a paid feature.
Buying credits — credit packs are sold via App Store in-app purchase or by card via Stripe Checkout. Credits are not legal tender, have no cash value, are non-transferable, and can only be used inside the Service.
Subscriptions — monthly plans include a monthly credit allowance that resets on each renewal. Unused subscription credits do not roll over. Purchased (pack) credits do not expire. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your Apple ID settings.
Free tier — free AI models are subject to daily request caps, which may change as provider terms change.
Refunds — purchases made through the App Store follow Apple's refund policies; card purchases follow Stripe's. If something went wrong (for example, you were charged credits for a failed request), contact support@languido.ai and we will make it right.
Account deletion forfeits any remaining credit balance.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

record or transcribe people where doing so violates applicable law — many jurisdictions require the consent of everyone being recorded; you are responsible for complying with the laws where you use the app;
harass, defraud, or harm others, or violate anyone's privacy or intellectual-property rights;
send abusive traffic, probe, or disrupt the Service or its providers;
generate content that violates the acceptable-use policies of the underlying AI providers.

7. Your content

You retain all rights to your conversations and any content you create. Conversation transcripts are processed in memory and never stored by us (see the Privacy Policy). If you publish a course through the Learn tab, you grant us a license to host and distribute it to other users of the Service.

8. Third-party services

Optional cloud features are fulfilled by third-party providers (AI model providers, speech-recognition, translation, and voice services). Their availability is not guaranteed, models may be added or retired, and pricing of metered usage may change. If you use your own API keys, your relationship with that provider is governed by their terms.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY OF TRANSLATIONS OR TRANSCRIPTIONS, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON A TRANSLATION OR TRANSCRIPTION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or threatens the integrity of the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 7, 9, and 10) survive.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
